## Phuket Strengthens the Russian and Belarusian Markets Through Phuket Roadshow to Russia and Belarus 2026, Ahead of the Return of Direct Minsk–Phuket Flights

A delegation from Phuket, comprising the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization (PPAO), the Phuket Tourist Association (PTA), and tourism operators from Phuket, participated in Phuket Roadshow to Russia and Belarus 2026, held from 24–29 July 2026 in Minsk, St Petersburg, and Moscow, to promote Phuket’s tourism potential, strengthen market confidence, and expand business opportunities with travel trade partners in both countries.

This marks the first time the Association has extended its roadshow programme into Belarus, alongside a renewed engagement with the Russian market in both Moscow and St Petersburg. Russia has long been one of Phuket’s most valuable international markets, characterised by longer average stays and higher spending, while Belarus represents an emerging market with comparable travel behaviour that has not previously been targeted directly by Phuket. Through this roadshow, the delegation sought to broaden awareness beyond Moscow into secondary cities and new source markets.

The roadshow also coincides with the return of direct Minsk–Phuket services operated by Belavia, the national airline of Belarus, with an inaugural flight on 21 October 2026 and twice-weekly scheduled services from 29 October 2026. The restoration of non-stop connectivity is a significant enabler for the market and gives immediate momentum to developing packaged programmes with Belarusian tour operators for the coming season.

The delegation showcased Phuket’s significant development over the past decade, including world-class hotels and resorts, new attractions, wellness experiences, marine tourism, sporting events, cultural activities, and a distinctive culinary scene recognised by UNESCO through Phuket’s designation as a Creative City of Gastronomy.

The roadshow was supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Moscow Office, which provided market intelligence, travel trends, and insights into Russian consumer behaviour, enabling participating businesses to align their products with the evolving needs of the market. The programme was also honoured by welcome addresses from Mr. Ivan Chura, Honorary Consul, in Minsk, and H.E. Mr. Sasiwat Wongsinsawat, Ambassador of Thailand to the Russian Federation, in Moscow.

Organised in the Table-Top Sales Meeting format, the programme enabled Phuket operators to meet directly with travel agencies, tour operators, airline partners, and wholesalers. It commenced in Minsk on 24 July 2026 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Minsk, continued to St Petersburg on 27 July at the Hotel Astoria, and concluded in Moscow on 29 July at the Safmar Grand Moscow, the country’s largest outbound travel market and business hub.

A total of 540 one-on-one business appointments were conducted across the three cities, demonstrating strong interest in Phuket and creating valuable opportunities for future collaboration.
